Praia do Paraíso - A Stairway to Heaven

In this case, the stairway to heaven doesn’t go up.

It goes down.

Down a winding staircase carved into the cliffs, towards Praia do Paraíso — a small natural beach tucked away near Carvoeiro.

Away from the movement and noise, this is a place to slow down. Clear blue water, dramatic cliffs, the sound of the sea, and a little more space to simply be.

The staircase is part of the experience. It is tempting to focus only on reaching the beach, but if you slow down and look around, the journey becomes part of the destination.

The changing views, the light, the colours, the details you might normally miss — they offer a different perspective when you allow yourself to see them.

At the bottom, there is the reward: the fresh sea breeze, the cries of seagulls, the warmth of the Algarve sun, and a quietness that feels rare these days.

Sometimes a place doesn’t solve anything.

It simply gives you a moment of peace.

And when it is time to climb back up, take your time. The steps are steep. Pause when you need to. Look back.

The view is worth it.
